    Alright I wanna hear opinions...

Y'all have seem me post about my issues with my bosses and their new operating authority. I was about 95% sure I was gonna go back to the co in Dallas we were leased to as a company driver. I have a standing offer from them for this.

We’re currently runnin pipe out of Houston. Because they screwed up their insurance stuff we cant even get any brokered load board freight.

The guy we're runnin pipe for, they have their own trucks and some owner operators. Im thinking like 10-20 trucks. He was just talking about how they're expanding their yard in Pleasaton another 12 acres for more pipe storage. They also haul pipe to Ok and out to rigs.

The guys Ive talked to are happy with how they run, how they're treated, how they're paid, etc. They dont run ####ty trucks, all Pete's, KW's, Western Stars. Trucks that are set up to run flatbed.

So Im really contemplating talking to the guy about coming to drive for him.

I dont see my current employer making it long. They just dont have the experience to do it and have already tried to get me to run cheap freight (a 3 drop between SA and Houston with overnight drops for $700). Every time they ask my opinion, they seem to do the exact opposite. They have now put themselves in a financial bind, which worries me as well...cause I'm not working for free again.

I hate co hopping especially for "greener pastures" because they doesn't always work out. But Im at a crossroads of what to do with my situation.

Just be glad the trucks parked to you didn't do the Morse Code thing with their marker lights.

How about some numbers. What's the pay? How low is the truck governed? How much handholding do they do? Some drivers love having their hands held. I don't. Find me the next load...I will take care of everything else. Texas to Okie would be regional. Does that mean you will be home often? Like the weekend? Don't get me wrong, I'd have no problem emptying in Okie on Friday, taking 10 and bouncing back to Houston by Saturday morning and getting a 34. Or would they sit you in Okie for the weekend and wait for a brokered load back to Houston?

Or just do like I do sometimes and pull into the parking spot so you dont have some steering wheel holding monkey staring at you randomly.

They litterally only haul pipe. Lots of DH though.

So the one co guy I ran with today makes "$1200-1300/wk". Short mi running Tx only and home weekends. He's kind of a goon, so I'm skeptical. I'm gonna talk to a couple other guys in the a.m. to see what they say. They've been with the co like 10+yrs, so that tells me something.

Yeah I imagine I wouldn't need all those parts if I was to just have it get stuck in the right position, but honestly I don't mind it coming on slower with a bit less smoke.
