Picked this up today. This should eliminate those dropped calls and dead zones.

Ford fan's can't argue with that. It must have blown up to be " desinged ". Ford V-8's just sing. Not desing.
    Even AMC V-8's sing.

My experience is that if you get an external antenna, they will work somewhat. That is until a tree limb takes the stinger out of the antenna (I’ve now given up on trying to keep one in mine). Where you run, that shouldn’t be an issue.

They’ll usually give you an extra bar or two of service when it’s low, but they won’t make service where there is none.

A lot of them, we rented them. I’m guessing a little but I think I’m right. The tires are to big to be a 60/65 and it has fixed axles so it’s not bigger than an 80/85 and it has a jib so it’s an 85.

I can tell you from personal experience, there is more of these guys with that mentality than you think. Enforcing a law about a piece of equipment they themselves don’t always understand!!

Want an example?? Ok I give ya one!

Shelbyville, KY back when they still had west bound scales, around 2001 or 02....
I roll across in my 98 379 pulling a triaxle Talbert Beam trailer with a 1970 Chevy cracker box on which had a National T6 crane and a 20’ flat. It’s was loaded with a drill rig. Behind me is my boss Roger driving a 1976 Kenworth model A, 290BC / 12513. Which had a 1300 CFM Ingersoll Rand air compressor mounted on it. It looked like a Schanns food truck lol.

Anyway I roll on but see Roger stop so I drag my feet.... to shorten this all up, I had to go back since I was the working mechanic for the company.

Now.... this 76 A model had HYDRAULIC ASSIST STEERING.... y’all get that???? Wasn’t power, wasn’t air, it was hydraulic assist steering. Therefore the drag link served as the hydraulic control valve!!!

I never could make that woman understand what this steering is...!!!!!

HER: I know my book and it states NO MOVEMENT in the steering linkages!

ME: yes ma’am that’s correct on power steering but not this setup, that is the control valve, it has left-neutral-right in that little area of movement for the steering cylinder.

Her: I don’t care you need to adjust it out!!!

Ok.... Roger turn it off. I adjust it all out and guess what...?????

LIKE TO NEVER GOT THE DAM THING OFF THE SCALES BECAUSE OF HER LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HER JOB..... and all the different styles of equipment on the road!!

Now, How many more have caught these lack of knowledge situations with those enforcing the law??? More than just you and I I’m certain.
