It is a good road, all the little towns have a bypass around them. I run it when heading north, beats going thru Jackson and all their red lights anytime.

 

7 in with picket elbows would look good. Dont go bigger than 7 in.

Kinda looks to me the way I read it they "refurbish" it, or at least that's their story, except the motor, looks like all it gets is an oil change.

 

Amen on that. She holds her own beside a bigger and badder red motor. We were running through Wisconsin and he would pull out to pass on some of the bigger hills, then I'd drop a gear and we'd match speed. His 505/1850 VS my 470/1650 (at least I assume it's 1650,it could be 1850, I haven't seen the rating first hand).

Have I ever said I dislike being a mentor? No? Well, I'm starting to, and would go as far as to say I don't want to do it anymore. I never run into (serious) problems when I'm alone. And I not making any more money to do it.

While I'd gladly run with either of these guys in a two truck convoy, we were put on a failed mission from the start (despite my warning logistics about the delay running three trucks together creates).

We stopped early Sunday because their Peoplenet elogs showed less driving time than they actually had left (something screwed up crossing the border), so we were 630 miles out of Bucyrus for the next day.

Enter Chicago and the glory that is the I294. Slowed us down. We get to Valparaiso, IN, I'm starting to not feel well. So, we had 4 hours 10 minutes to drive about 4 hours and 40 minutes of distance (not including the delays from all the traffic lights on the US-30 through IN).

We end up at the Loves in Fort Wayne for the night and I spend 2 hours in the shower room feeling like I got hit by a freight train. My wife thought it was food poisoning, I woke up the next day feeling drained but almost normal.

Fortunately it was just food poisoning and not a flu. Get to Bucyrus a day late, deliver on time with new appointments, then we reload in Milan with shingles this morning, deliver in Windsor with minutes to spare (and here the silly dispatcher for these guys is telling me to stop and wait to see if the PARS cleared, I'm like, that's your job, we've got stuff to do here).

Had we not kept going and wrote up our ACI's on the Ambassador Bridge, we wouldn't have made delivery for a second time this week, nor made the reload we're sitting at right now.

tl;dr

I'm doing this job to make money so I can begin a future with my wife. If I can stop and help a driver (whether our own or another) with advice or anything else, I will, no question, but I'm not doing this #### again if I'm not being compensated for it. Period.
