Dot over here busted my balls about Maine plated/registered trailers that listed my address here on the title/reg. Not that there’s a law against it, but I got the warning on the inspection so I couldn’t fight it.
Property taxes here are not especially cheap. If I put my trailers all on my home state reg, prolly be looking at ~$5k property tax for the first year. N creeping down after that slowly.
“There’s a waiver if you buy brand new they won’t tax you the first five years” yeah, but they do after that pretty ####in hard though.

I gotta get some fresh plates this week matter of fact. See what Maine is charging for a 10 year and title.

    1963-1997 according to the internets.

I seen a few real lookers. Know a couple second hand. Owners have said parts sourcing is very challenging, “hand built” means a lot of things changed from one to the next inside the same models, and things were built to fit the exact truck they were going in.

I like the look, and appreciate the custom build. I run work trucks. I need something I can just get parts for and don’t have time to make a project out of.

The best thing about ME is when you title it there - you don’t have to pay sales tax on it. A good deal when the sales tax amount is more than a used Freightliner cost.

Wife got in late and I’m trying to let her sleep. Oldest wanted pancakes and bacon although I usually go get them donuts on Sunday morning. It saves me the trip in this windy rainy weather.

Scrape off just enough bacon grease to keep the bacon flavor.

You're right. Looked it up and the last truck was built in February 1997.
