Loaded just north of Charlotte this morning. About 78k gross. Sittin just outside of Toledo with full tanks. 25 miles from delivery on Monday morning. All the money I spent on this truck over the last 2 years is paying off. She just gets on down the road. Reasonable fuel economy, smooth, quiet for the most part and pulled perty good. First time over Fancy Gap. Every coop was closed and good weather all day. Mostly “Bull Haullers Left Lane” muisic on the radio.
A great day of Truckin!

X2.
Basic, clean/shiny, doesn't glow going down the road, night or day, that's what I would drive too. It's a lot of work keeping just a regular truck clean, I can't imagine trying to keep a working show truck clean.
Don't care much for gawdy in anything but then I'm pretty basic looking too, lol.Feedman, cke, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 7 others Thank this. -
Finally home. 2900 miles over 7 days isn't horrible, but I can do one of these in 5 days in ideal situation.
Apparently we are getting a raise on the first of April. Not sure if it's going to be a joke or not, lol. But it means I'm going to try and get more Bucyrus loads, apparently they are loading more and more every week and we can't keep up.
Anyways, this week was a bit of a wash, but I learned a lot. There are three C-15 CAT's sitting in the shop waiting for 389 gliders to arrive (not sure what happened to the X15's lol, but I'll take a CAT glider over anything else). I'm going to see what I can do on Tuesday to get into one when they are done.
Hope all you guys have a great weekend. -
That is interesting to hear of a company going to gliders. Assuming the cost is comparable to new it seems like a good choice to me.
One of the advantages of gliders in the states used to be, and I assume still is, is not having to pay the federal excise tax which I believe is 12%. I wonder if a similar benefit exists north of the border?cke, Zeviander, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 7 others Thank this. -
Is that before or after staring at the sun for a couple minutes?

If I was to buy something tomorrow this is what it would be, a glider from Fitzgeralds:
And I'd be pulling for a local company with this behind it. Hot oil/asphalt tanker.
