Leaving Bennett, CO now. Should be home by supper time. Almost 8 weeks since I left.

 

Gotta pull every wheel and measure every drum with calipers and record the measurements on a govt form and keep that form on file for audit. It's a giant PITA. Cost of the annual went from....I forget....I think they were charging us $100 to $350 now if nothing needs replaced. Also have to mark, measure and record all the brake strokes and tread depths on every wheel. This is farm country so lots of 8 axle B train hopper combinations here. Workload for every shop doubled or tripled over night and you can't get anything repaired anymore because nobody has time.

 

Had a 450 in it. My ride when my daughter was born. It was by no means stock . With those 6” straights it talked the talk lol. 77 with a later model hood, and a broke frame..... that’s why the gap between the bumper and frame are like that, broke between rear spring shackle mount and steering box.

Yes “T” is for Texas... or I mean Turbo

Example: 12V71TT
12 cylinders, V style configuration, 71 series or 71 cubic inch per cylinder, 2 T’s = 2 turbos.

 

I’m sure we all can say we see that style of driving more and more these days. They’re goofing off or swinging their arms while conversing to someone while using a wild looking futuristic phone thing! Or their foot is on the #### dash like a spoiled brat!!

Thanks Snowman, I have read about folks doing that, and when I get to that point I'll probably at least do the bypass plate.

I will say this though, having fought to start and 8v71 when it runs out of fuel; There have been times that I wished everything had a primer pump! I realize that it won't be necessary with an electric pump set up.
