It's funny you say that. I called both of the spring shops I use. They both said that's what they usually end up doing is welding them in.
I been looking online, found a internal thread chaser to fit but dam they are $400. I dont mind buying tools of any kind, but just for a 1 time use I'm probably gonna have to opt for welding mine unless I take the it all completely apart and go to a machine shop. Aggravating fo sho

They welded bout a 1 inch bead across from one or the other. After coating silicone gasket goop on the bad threads to help seal it up.Tug Toy, Feedman, PoleCrusher and 15 others Thank this.

Do you know the thread size and pitch? A bolt can be modified to repair threads like a bottoming tap.

Steve I was considering that idea, but it's such a large diameter I'd need around a 2+ inch bolt. I thought bout taking a new cap and making a thread chaser out of, but I dont think the threads are strong enough cause the cap is made out cast

@snowman_w900 a new cap may work at least you will have fresh threads on the cap.
