Trying to get caught up here:
The turbo is a bit laggier than the 177148, but it is producing up to about 26 lbs. of boost, and I can't get the pyrometer over 700*. This truck used to run close to 1000*, but it had a bit more fuel turned to it then and that was with a 177148. The Cat house set the fuel to stock, and I added 1 turn to the fuel screws before putting the engine in.
Our other truck will outpull this one petty easily right now I think. We ran together empty, and he could catch me on grades easy. I was about 7,000 lbs. heavier, but he would still have walked away from me apples to apples I think. When we bought it someone had removed the screws altogether. I put new ones in and adjusted it to where there was a bit of spring pressure, and the egt will get to about 1000.
The new one seems to be begging for more fuel, but I will probably leave it as is for a bit. I am tempted to give it a couple of turns, but am intrigued by going to 58s! I will need some advice before long!!!
Grossed 146K today, and running between 4500 and about 8000 feet in elevation I worked her hard. Still couldn't get the pyrometer above 700. The 177148 seems better at low RPM, but I think this one will do much better once wound up and pulling hard.
It'll sure enough smoke like a B model if you want it too!
