Those are "Power Unit" plates, for commercial vehicles. They have the letters PWR down the left hand side. There's even guys who run them on service pickups. Lawn care, electricians, plumbers, etc are all able to get them.
Is she as mean as you are?????

For some odd reason I thought I would be able to find some slab bacon at the grocery store nearest me (Albertson's). Why, I don't know.
By GOD if this were the fine Republic of Tejas, I'd of been able to waltz into an HEB and grab all the slab bacon I wanted.
Life is cruel sometimes.
(I could have not been a lazy f-er and gone up the road a bit to the specialty meat shop but lets not confuse the facts with the issues)7-UP, BigCam9670, cke and 17 others Thank this. -

Out in Evanston, WY spending a few days with @sawmill, he's helping me get my truck ready to pull tankers around with him in west texas...I hooked up to a cattle pot today just to say I've seen one in the mirrors, someday I'll load one up!
Once again a member of this forum has went out of their way to help a dummy from Pennsylvania, I cant say how thankful I am to have friends like all of you.

@Hurricane69
Driving an extra 1/2 mile is a lot of work. It takes less than a minute. That's a lot of time. If I'd of made that choice there's no way I'd of seen the young lady who was breast feeding her goblin over in the produce area.

For those who are interested we finally know what our 345 weighs, according to the nice people at the Alpine Port of Entry in Wyoming.
97,120 lbs. without counterweight, but full of fuel and bucket attached.
The counterweight weighs 19,000 and change.
As previously mentioned, we are allowed 75k on a quad, 65k on a tridem, and up to 25k on a single axle, but not to exceed 160k gross. These are issued at the POE, after obtaining clearance to get to the Port.
Not having pulled this trailer before, we made our best guess as to placement, and it worked out ok. Had to make one minor adjustment at the Port.
We ended up with the following weights:
Steer - 12060
Lift axle - 10340
Drives - 50140
trailer quad - 73780
Gross - 146320
Thanks to @johndeere4020 this morning with some help regarding the flip axle!
Permit cost for 103 miles was $180
