If your going to mount them in the boxes, you might want to make sure they will take the vibration. Had them same ones on this westernstar when I bought it. They were shook to pcs.

I’m concerned with that, I’m going to mount a plywood bottom in them and set them on rubber.

 

Did you have turbo stall when you shifted gears ? That will snap a shaft after while...kinda sounds like your engine gasps when you shift. You would think over spinning it would of plodded the propeller.
