Sounds a lot like Maine.
An accident report is filed by the Police, you're given a card with the case # & then the insurance companies sort out who's at fault..... That's why I don't understand the revolt against dash-cams.... do what you're supposed to be doing & if something shady happens you've got the potential to clear yourself.... Or bury yourself if you're oogling the phone, one leg up on the dash with Netflix playing 'Half-Baked' on the tablet glued to your windshield thru earbuds, a cold Ice House Edge (8% abv) in the right hand and a stout cigar in the left.... The sad part is: every single story @shogun has ever concocted is a legitimate truth in an alternate reality. Especially the ones about @Humblepie, which are true across multiple realities.

Not to get political but I’m not a fan of the “if you have nothing to hide” argument. That’s the same one that people accept to let a cop make a search they no right to make. I’m a pretty dutiful driver but I worry about self incrimination with a dash cam. Case in point, a few years ago a pickup pulled right out in front of me. I had absolutely zero time to react, she was under me before I knew it. The sheriff deputy cited her and said it was obvious what happen. My question is, what if I had a dash cam and is showed me doing 58 in a 55? Do I do 58 in a 55? Yep all the time, I even pass cops clocking traffic and they don’t care about that speed but the truth is it’s illegal. So what if that would have been a fatality? Does an ambulance chasing lawyer argue that if I’d been doing 55 instead of 58 his client would have had time to get out without me hitting them therefore I’m at fault? BS? Yep, but I can see it. That’s my concernTug Toy, PoleCrusher, 7-UP and 21 others Thank this.

Your point is a concern of mine as well.
I move quickly. Generally 5 over. Often more. Am I gonna get nailed for that someday when something bad happens?.... Maybe.... But my focus on what I'm doing didn't lead Driver X to make an indiscriminately bad decision (blown stop sign, failed merge, illegal right on red, no blind spot check), even if I were trucking along.... Use the device to protect YOU, is all I'm saying.Tug Toy, PoleCrusher, Westbound23 and 12 others Thank this.
