That’s....the jist of what I heard I suppose.... only one person needs the official class and then everyone else gets the shorter bulletin points. Isn’t there some sort of sticker as well?

A friend of my Dad's had gotten up to about 20 trucks and a bunch more trailers. He came in one day after running back to back loads because of drivers not showing up he locked the doors and sold everything except his Classic and a stainless spread reefer. Said recently he hadn't regretted a minute of going back solo!

 

did you read the link of the B-52 they brought back after 10 years that Bear posted earlier ? No reason to be sad at all. Aviation creates so many stresses on a airframe, ( corrosion. Metal fatigue. etc. ) and it advances so quickly at times that it's just a faster microcosm of the advance of civilization and the tools we use.

 

So, I went to a diner I frequent. Young cook walks up...haven't seen him in a bit. He got locked up, just got free, and back to work. Tells me about how he gave a friend a ride, picked the friend up, went a couple blocks to a gas station and got surrounded by the DEA. DEA pulls the dope out of his buddy's pockets. Buddy said cook gave him the dope. Cook went up river for an 11/29. Just released with an 8 year probation.

Why didn't you tell?

Well, you have a new game now. Can you behave for 8 years? Odds are against you.

No. ALL of your friends. The only way that you will be able to better yourself is by choosing better friends. Want to be successful and goal oriented and focused? Your friends all have to be. Until you understand that, you are not "done." How old are you?

"Engaged. GF gets out in August."

Is she done? If she isn't done, neither will you be.

Nothing now. Especially when facing 8 years probation. It was bound to happen. That too is part of the game. If you are done with the game, be done. Don't worry about him. You have more pressing matters.


I see this stuff all the time. Guy just got out, got back to work. Say's he's done with that life. Plans to get his GED, and go to school to be a welder. Lofty goals, especially when everyone around you will have the crab mentality. 26 year old and hasn't advanced at anything in life since he dropped out of school.

 

You can't get most to do more than kick a tire and pour out a pee bottle in the morning and now they want them to inspect loads also?! I already have to inspect every car so there's no real change for me but I don't know how it's gonna work. There's no driver shortage but there is dang sure a "good driver" shortage!

 

They're neat to look at on Google Earth, it's mind boggling that there's so many Planes just parked

 

Why do you have a PhD in aviation because I really didn’t comprehend that

 

Also makes you wonder what the bottom
of the ocean looks like. Planes, ships garbage dumped?

 

It might get cold. It would lose it's lust.
