It doesn't help getting it fixed today but I would go after his insurance company for repayment of labor and materials if he took down that much.
That's just stupidity right there taking that much down and then clearly lying about it.

 

I know, but the body shop isn't cheap either. Hopefully we can avoid the damage and rust. Good Canadian made product!

 

Is his insurance going to cover the damage?
