Well yesterday was an adventure.
Boss decided to put a new driver in my W900 while Im down sick. Guy is mid 40's seems to know his stuff. He comes upto the house and gets the truck. While Im talking to him, Im puking. So I get him rolling and he has no problem with the super 10. He goes back to SA to grab stuff from his house (why didnt he bring it with him?) and my boss finds him a power unit only to run out west so he can retrieve one of our flatbeds. He was right on top of it. Down there in good time, then it all starts to go south.
1st he's calling me saying the trailer has no brakes. Well its one of those single axle oil field trailers, that I think is like a big dumpster. Made to sit flat on the ground and be winched up onto a truck. He starts freaking out, but then tells me all is good. So he has to go by Loves to check trailer tire pressures. That was an ordeal just to do the tirepass.
Then 30min later he's callinv to say he's sick. So what went from right on schedule is now a 4hr ordeal. He ends up leaving the truck and trailer in a Golds Gym parking lot and calls an ambulance.
So at 6:30pm I have to pack up my sick ###, my 14 day old kid, wife and stepdaughter and go retrieve the truck 55mi away. Didnt get home till 10:30 after having to have my wife drive to the other side of SA to retrieve a kingpin lock key while I waited for her to pick me up after dropping the truck/trailer for another driver to get.
Now Im pretty sure Im severely dehydrated and getting worse. So Im headed to the ER.sawmill, 4mer trucker, ShooterK2 and 5 others Thank this. -
