Wouldn't that be like detonation?? I think I need to do some reading. Sounds interesting.

not really. The tiny droplet gets ignited by the spark plug like usual. The pressure spike this causes raises the pressure in the cylinder just enough to cause the low ratio mixture in the rest of the cylinder to ignite and helps with low emissions because of the low amount of fuel mixture. Detonation is technically an uncontrolled ignition event. In effect, too early, before the piston gets far enough in its upward compression stroke. It's all about having a more precise amount of control about when and exactly where to initiate the ignition event(s) inside the cylinder. If the ignition is controlled to the precise time we desire ( when the piston is in position to mechanically capture and convert the force of the expanding hot, burning gas and air mixture, then that's what we want. We're used to setting the Timing to so many degrees Before Top Dead Center. Lesser grades of Octane fuel require us to retard ( word probably won't show up due to the Filter here. Think "set backwards". The opposite of Advancing ) the Timing. Detonation is only harmful because we have lost precise control of the ignition event and it's trying to drive the piston downward before the connecting rod has " cleared the hump " at the top of it's movement. The piston is exerting it's downward pressure AGAINST the direction the engine is turning.

Back in the day MMA was awesome. Before big money got into UFC, in the days of Joyce Gracie and Tank Abbot. It was real, raw and pure. Now it's tamed, civilized, nice even.

It would be nice to find another MMA organization that's like UFC was when it first started.

I loved the early days of UFC. It was brutal! There are a few fighters I still like but nowhere near like it was!!

I was at the German Grocer's / Restaurant yesterday afternoon and saw a Haribo flavor called 'Weldgeister' (Wood ghosts, or wood spirits).... Immediately wondered if @wore out had tried 'em.
