They were 34",KW and others were 36",don't know what IH was thinkin' there. But I was proud to have that crawl through back then, though the big strappers from the west coast had the cool walk-ins.
One thing the 4300-9300's did have the advantage, they were a very roomy cab. Belly room, head room, extra width cab,IH did figure that out early. Important when your a big guy.

You got that right. I never spent any time around a Beagle till I started dating my wife. Her Beagle would get on a scent and dang near drag you down the street. It was a workout walking that thing.
That’s one dog you do NOT let run free. She’d find a way out the gate every now and then and we’d drive all over town to find her.
I sure miss that dog.2CAN, Al. Roper, Hurricane69 and 21 others Thank this. -

Unbelievably so. If you look at that pic of the 4300 interior, that huge dash panel on the passenger side comes off in about 10 seconds without tools. Three thumbscrews on the top, then it swings open, and you slide it off the hinges, set it in the sleeper. Instant access to everything. All the main electrical is there, plus that little door in the center swings open too. Loadstars, and even the small IH trucks had their fusebox in the front of the glove compartment, brilliiant idea. You don't have to be a contortionist to try and crawl up under a dash, looking for a blown fuse. IH did have some good ideas.SL3406, PoleCrusher, IH Truck Guy and 21 others Thank this.
