That whole area was nothing but hookers, pimps, drug dealers and strip clubs. It was definitely dangerous.

 

I agree 100% with wore and shooter. @Gumper where are the pieces going to land WHEN it comes apart?

 

It was the murder capital of the US for many years.

 

Burns harbor isn’t bad. Safety wise

 

I think the last Union 76 was in Chicago. Well, the last one I remember seeing.

 

And as a green driver it was definitely a scary place. Those where the kinds of places a kid from small town South Carolina never knew existed.

 

There used to be 2 sisters that worked the parking lot at the J in burns harbor. Their mom was the one pimping them out.

 

Ahhh...John Dillinger. There’s a documentary I gotta finish...

 

I can’t say I have ever had a “I really shouldn’t be here” moment yet out here. Some weird sketchy places, sure, but I’d imagine the whole country is a bit safer than it used to be in regards to truck stops?

I also don’t usually park near metro areas. And if you don’t do that half of your “parking shortage” issues go out the window..

 

The other one...across from the Peelot. Couple exits west. One stop shopping. Liquor store, JJ’s Chicken and Fish (the jumbo shrimp platter is to die for)

There’s an Asian massage parlor that had this stunning green eyed Asian lady working there....wowsers!
