My Uncle Michael took me to four races and I got hooked but it was way too expensive and out of my way to get to every single one of them then fans became furious because you couldn’t smoke in the stands anymore even on the ground one could only smoke at the campgrounds maybe they had some designated places and everybody quit going. This was after Earnhardt died before he died the races were a lot of fun

That was when NASCAR went fully commercial and adopted the universal car and about put some of the legendary tracks out of business chasing west coast money. That was when I quit following it. About a year ago i had a run up US-52 by Darlington. It was a sad sight.
