For broadcasting dramatics (or so it seems), anything above just a thunderstorm is considered "Severe". @ShooterK2 and @Bear135 have a weather guy in the neck of the woods who's the same way.
Speaking of which, the noon news just started with a "Severe Weather Alert." There's some storms 50 miles north of here right now that are already being embellished by the weather guessers.

 

The one stolen from me was at least a 1/2 bigger. Man they are expensive

Did you see the pics of the non-meso twin tornadoes that dropped out of a rain cloud a couple days ago east of Watonga? There was no warning, no chasers that I know of. Only pics are from folks who just happened to see it. One guy working derricks got a good one.

 

Need a different store then HD. Gonna get creative and make it work

 

18 miles round trip. We tearing it up today...
