This is why I turned wrenches at the dealership! I watched one of my buddies prep a car and didn't want no parts of that mess!! I've bolted on body panels and helped straighten out a unibody or 2 but thats as far as I wanted to go!! BTW no video of the Chevelle?? I still need to get up to Cecil one time and see you row the gears in that Elky!

@Grubby . This isn't the exact car. But is a 70 worth fixing up?

It’s got 3.73 back there right now. The transbrake goes to about 3200, thats why I want the 228R cam from Texas Speed. I’d like to launch about 3k, then spray when it hits 2nd. It’s got a stout 4L80 with a billet triple disk Vigilante converter.

I need an aftermarket driveshaft and a few other things but i’d like to run it on the 1/4 in Millington outside Memphis sometime this year. If I wreck it I still have a turbo Z71 with a 408 and an 80 mm billet S480 Borg Warner clone.

I never heard what they were made out of. I've got a buddy in the water dept who might know, I'll ask him next time I see him.

I had an '88 1500 and was going to do the Bell drop spindles and the rear flip. I ordered them and the next day totaled the truck! You sure you don't want to keep the turbo?? I love watching them spool up and bump in!!

I liked doing body work. Found a greater sense of accomplishment in doing it, especially when stuff didn't fit right or I had to make my own piece to do some rust repair because there's no aftermarket part made.

I'm curious about that and wonder if they used different wood in different areas.

Pretty interesting. I never knew about wood water mains.
