I miss it too, tons of great memories. I use to deliver to a place in Hurlock called H&M Bay. Some of us at the company I drove for would get finished with our stops in NYC, Jersey, Ct, Long Island and do a bunch of pickups, LTL stuff, on Friday's all over those same places then beat feat to Hurlock for Saturday morning unloading. It was controlled chaos and they'd put it on OTR trucks for stops all over the country.
The problem the locals have with a lot of the folks from the Western shore is they have come over built huge houses buy these massive yachts that hardly ever see open water and have driven up the prices on all the boat slips to the point where the watermen can hardly afford it. It's driven alot out of business. Also they bring their "ways" with them like one of y'all said before. It took me a good amount of time to prove to them that I was the same as them. Enjoyed the water, crabbing, the outdoors life and shooting a whole bunch of shooting!! We spent a ton of time at the Rod & Gun club. Waterfowl season was a blast!! Did you ever visit the Waterfowl Festival in Easton?
Just a quick addition...I spent a good amount of time sitting around the fireplace at the gun club sippin'whiskey and listening to the old timers tell their tales! That was a great experience. Good men that taught me a good bit about being a man! My pops was on the road a lot so I learned a good bit from him when he was around. That's why I did local work as much as I could when my kids were small.
Obviously a few of us here got kicked from bedpost to bedpost when we were kids...... one of the few times I got to get close to my dad. Uncle Lester always told me stay away when he came to visit me. Dad never knew till later years.
Shoot. If I'd of known you were up there earlier I'd of run up to say hi. We coulda invited @ShooterK2 and had a proper meeting.
