I wouldn’t know their securement standards.

We are more or less “sister” companies — at least when it comes to brokered freight. We do things somewhat similar... at times TMC seems to have gotten the better end of tr stick.

TMC is rumored to be fairly stringent as well, according to everything I’ve read on here over the years.

Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest. Lots of former military personnel work for them and out of the drivers I’ve met it seems to be their way or the highway. I’ve met some good hands on their RGN fleet in Iowa. Had some good conversation — no surprise to me many people dislike their company culture. Melton is certainly more laid back...

I’ve made the mistake of walking up to a bunch of TMC drivers and jokingly saying something along the lines of “how are we doing today, cheerleaders?” I’ve never been scowled so hard in my life. Their good folk though. Don’t have any issues with them. It’s maverick and boyd that typically take short cuts...

What is with folks today? I-55 coming into Mississippi, exit 289 there is a loaded tanker on its side where it laid over on Goodman road. 25 miles south, there is a JB hunt bobtail laid over in the southbound ditch on the driver’s side. 60 degrees and sunny as can be.

I used to run 10 loads a week across 92. Usually 2-3 times a week I'd come rolling into Bevington from the west with seven axles on the ground running 45 and I'd see TMC sitting at the stop sign there by the station..... They'd wait till I was half a block away and decide it was time to go....then maybe get it up to 35 by the time they got to Martindale to turn off. Always two of them in the truck....hauling those concrete barriers.

Whenever I see one of their trucks I get as far away as possible as fast as I can....

TMC is a bottom feeder, not the industry standard. They may fool everyone with black trucks and fake chrome, but they're no different from Maverick or Melton or BTC or McElroy.

    "How do you know, Six?"

Because they raid driving schools just like Swift and Werner. They don't pay any more money, their trucks are not better performing, and it is just an entry level job....it is a beginning, not the End All and Be All of Open Deck.

Logan76, sawmill, BoostedTeg and 10 others Thank this.
