My 6-71 carries a GM nameplate. Just sayin' is all. I guess Detroit means different thinks to different people depending how old they are. You must be pretty friggin' old

It has to do with weight distribution, the thicker the shim the more weight that is transfered to the booster. On an east coast you can shim the deck to transfer weight too.
