My original thought was they sure have a strange diet up there. Wasn't going to say anything, but I have to agree with you.

I did for a few years. Started with a little boom truck company running a Skyhook 130. They're common in the sign business but we set a lot of steel and trusses and air conditioners. Also stood up a lot of light poles.

After that I went to work for a guy who let me run a 70 ton Grove. Did mostly red iron with that. I never got to run his conventionals but I helped set a them up a lot.

 

Very cool. The first crane company I worked for in Baltimore actually started as a sign company. Contractors on jobs kept asking him to do small picks and it just blew up from there.

This was one of the larger ones. I had started on a smaller one that was on a 71 Ford 9000 with a 391 propane engine and a 5x4.
When they asked me to drive this one I lied like a rug when they asked if I could shift a 8LL. It was a 95 Ford with the 275 Cummins in it.

 

That's why they have some of these in their fleet

 

Back in Watkins Glen not on the Harley today though.

The view ain't half bad if that bucket would move. The fishing here never impressed me, but the scenery was usually top shelf.
