Went to the store at lunch time. Had in my paws a nice sandwich, some cake, locally made beef jerky, and some soda.

Walking to the check out and the power goes out. Doesn't come back on, and the registers are down. Put everything down, walk out to go somewhere else. Traffic lights are out, and all the businesses are dark. Get on the road and see local cops swarming from their hive.

Some rocket genius in what I think was a transfer truck managed to take out two power line poles. The chaos that ensued on the road was magical.

Nothing like witnessing the end of someone's job....
