    The odds that Bruce found that particular truck, and decided to restore it is amazing. But then for us to both be on the same forum, and connect, well those would be long odds in Vegas i bet.

    There’s usually a little steel ramp welded or bolted to the top flange of rack of the trucks frame rails. These ramps are placed just aft of the fifth wheel

    The front of the trailer has rollers that line up with the ramps.

    As the truck backs under the trailer, the rollers ride up those ramps and lift the trailer up off the ground.

    This one’s an 84 — got it from the canal company auction 10 yrs ago for $500 and put around $500 in it — every kid around here learned how to drive a stick in it. Going to put a new heart in it a nice facelift and a 2” lift on it.

    Must be a mechanical type, I have never used one, only hydraulic.
