Great post. I am old enough to have rebuilt alternators and starters. Even a generator on my old 56. It wasn’t hard and it was cheap.

However, I’m guilty of putting new parts on my truck when the old one was fixable at times, but that’s just when we are busy and I’d honestly be money ahead to get it back on the road in a hurry. In the middle of a job the only time to work on stuff is when I really need to be sleeping. Lol.

Yup. We had a tanker dedicated to the helicopter company.
LOL..The driver left home in June, chased fires all over the west that season and didn't get back 'til it started snowing in early December. Our truck made so much money that year that the helicopter company bought their own truck for the next season.
After all the hassle of running their own truck...an old clapped out ex-PIE tanker... and them not knowing how to really do it efficiently they sold it and put out bids for a carrier for the next season.
We got under-bid, badly under bid, and haven't hauled for them since. Nobdy hauls for them more than one season. Strange, no?

What year? We worked up there in 2015 and 2016, and then again last year. I probably saw your truck!

I'll be on duty again tomorrow and Sunday not sure where I'll be. Maybe at the house 2 miles north of your drop off, or out at the farm. We'll see how things play out.

I've been wanting to make more, because they make great extension cord and air hose racks in the shop.

I had 2 of those pink coffee cups, 1 for each time my daughter beat her cancer. I did finally wear them out.
