Maybe something like gold leaf. That would match. Do they make a gold leaf vinyl?

Ideally hand painted is the way I would go if I could find some one to do it. When I was a kid seein a guys name and hometown hand painted on the side of the truck was the coolest thing to me

 

If you can't get the right color what about chrome? I have seen it done well, but it can be to much depending on how it's done. Or black letters on the steps. Again can be done well.

 

I will check with my brother and see if he knows anyone locally that can do it.

 

I couldn't figure out where I wanted the name and numbers on our Pete. I really didn't want to put vinyl stickers on the paint so I just bought the step plate and had decals put on them. It's not the look I wanted but went with it.

I like the old school hand painted method too but couldn't find anybody to do it. Otherwise I would of put our name on the door.

 

There is a bit of wheat in the area!

 

I see quite a few trucks around here that still have hand painted and air-brushed lettering, but I am afraid that the talent is going by the wayside. I admit to using vinyl as it is quick and affordable.

Well, he said he didn’t know anyone locally offhand. I might keep an eye out at the Marion rail yard for graffiti artists when I run Walnut Ridge or Jonesboro.
