Yes I remember that game. The Flyers were so rough.....I think that was against Moscow Dynamo B squad not the Red Army A squad......they refused to come out for the 3rd period. I think Clark broke Valery Karlamov’s ankle with the slash in ‘72? Some say it’s the only reason we won and they might be right since I think the Soviets were winning at the time.

 

Yes and they (Flyers ?) threatened to not pay them if they didn’t come back out and finish the game.

There was mention of that game and incident in a Flyer documentary I watched a while back.

 

Probably Alan Eagleson that told them that and then he turned out to be a crook by not paying the players and stealing from the pension fund
