My opinion on newer hoppers is ALL the manufactures lightened them up to the point that they will not hold up like the older ones.
For brute strength a high side Timpte or Wilson is hard to beat. Bigger the box, the more stout it becomes. The style with the enclosed hoppers and a rail running between the doors is one solid trailer.
If you can resist the temptation to fill it level full...
I know on a 15 Stoughton and you can tell how heavy you are by just looking in the mirror.
This old 76 Wilson was about the first grain hopper in this area. Prolly hauled as much fertilizer as grain. Demoted to a field wagon anymore but it'll still carry the mail.![]()
