Too late DOT man. I done grabbed 7 gears coal pouring out the stacks we gone like donkey Kong! Catch ya on the flip with some new paper and a brand new box of crayons.

Oh and nevermind those couple water melons that "fell" off the back of my wagon before I pulled out.

    Man I miss those days.

@AModelCat I'm glad you decided to stick around. This place wouldn't be the same without some of the things we get to learn from you.

I'm tired of people leaving, whatever the cause.

    Yes it is.

I wouldn't recommend anybody getting into trucking anymore. And if you can still do something else, do it.

Or get a good local driving job if that suits you.

Trucking used to be for those who were independent minded. Even if you drove a company truck, you did your job your way. And as long as the job got done and you didn't run over anything, it was all good.

Now it's way too much like a job, even for a lot of o/o.

    Good evening.

My job is boring as #### so I don't have much to share today.

Except a really cringey joke (An analog of my life, perhaps?)

You aren't kidding. Even the local gig I was doing where I'm at now could be an exercise in patience. The customer interaction out in the wild was good, but man oh man, the clownfiesta that could be just trying to get out of the gate could drive anyone to drink.

    The phone calls while out...

    "Where are you"

    "What's going on?"

"Yeah, I know you had seven stops an hour and a half away, and that we held you up two hours past when you wanted to leave, but are you almost back yet? Why are you calling me a knuckle dragging rocket genius?"

"I just got a speed warning on the tracking software, says you were doing 67 in a 55...."

  10. With out the speed warning. I agree local stuff is BS lately. I wish you didn't have the "over the shoulder nanny" types wanting to know your every move sucks.

Hopefully you can figure something out like BOB did.

Funny thing about the speed warning... I was out on a two lane in the middle of BFE with nary a soul to see for miles. Goes in hand with being able to make a decision without someone having to spit their two pence into it.

I'm still at the same place, I just moved in to double clutch a keyboard and try to keep the warehouse running like a marginally oiled two stroke.
