I’ve gotten so used to fixing things myself I forgot there were companies that do.

That’s just it. I’ve looked at other places. I guess I wanted to see others opinion if I’m overreacting or not. I’m expected to perform at a high level everyday and I expect the same of my equipment and co- workers

Today has been eventful. Welded a crossmember on the frame by the rear shock mounts that was mia and cleaned up the jagged hot knife cuts from the previous owner, cleaned the aforementioned screen and check valve to see if thatll take care of the hard start in the morning's. Adjusted all the brakes, greased every inch of the truck. And put in a new windshield.

That's pretty much why I left elite, truck had little things like oh idk water leaking into the sleeper floor that I needed fixed and other little #### and not getting loads to pay the bills. I found a job and told them I was bringing the truck back. As much as drivers are supposed to be in demand these days theres no need worry about a bad mark on your dac report

You got 10 years to polish the blueing off the old double barrel, warm to 250* for 3 hours then rub down with beeswax and rub down with a soft cloth.
Shining 12 gauge barrels intimidate potential boyfriends really well!
That is if she settles down enough that you want to protect her.

You already know what you're going to do. The equipment seems to be pretty good from what I've seen. The co-workers? Well aside from safety issues that directly affect you unless you plan on eating Thanksgiving dinner with them I wouldn't worry about co-workers.

Look at it this way...what would you expect us to say if you were fighting with your woman? We don't have all the information you do....

But...if you're going to leave just remember that sometimes the grass is only greener on the other side of the fence because the septic tank is backed up.

If you want to tell off the boss, write it down on paper...then go to bed. Read it tomorrow morning and see how it sounds.

Just parked it at my drop in south central Michigan. Kind of curious what my weekend plan will be hopefully something with some long miles.

So I sat down with my guy today.

I don't want to jump on the first offer because I've already been burned once, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a negative here. There aren't any other deck companies out of Winnipeg with a better deal (most are 7-10 days out, 65 mph trucks and lots of Ontario).
    • Company is owned by his sister-in-law, and family is sometimes a no-no, but apparently she fired two friends from the office who weren't doing their job without hesitation
    • They currently have 16 O/O's and 3 CD's (says something I think)
    • Have more contract freight to move than drivers and trucks to move it. Including multi-drops and O/D, which is why they are heavy on recruiting and ordering trucks/trailers
    • Pay rate is the same for mileage with previous company (deck place)
    • Add pays are double (so essentially about $25-30/hr on average, including tarping)
    • Trucks aren't governed low (70-80 mph, depending on the truck), but fuel economy is monitored
    • Layover pay is $100/day after 24 hours (fair but not great)
    • Resets at home whenever possible (loads are picked to bring drivers home), including bringing the truck home if you want, not just 36 hours either
    • Deck lanes are pretty much mostly south with return trips coming back straight north (not through Ontario unless absolutely necessary)
    • I'll be first in line for a new truck when they come in, but they are going to start me out by flying me to BC to pickup an O/O's truck and run it till that happens (few months)
I guess the only negative might be they aren't ordering a "man's truck", but a fully loaded Mack Anthem (auto) with fridge/microwave that'll run over 65 mph is more than enough for me. Money is money and miles are miles. If I want to decide on the truck, I'm going to need to buy one.

...should’ve parked at the usual and gone to have Mexican...

Lemme see which bar I should choose for disappointment.
