We send are scrap metal to China, they turn it in to steel coils, they rust on the boat on it's way back here. Then you can pick them up in Baltimore, Or Toledo Ohio and deliver it to Ford,GM,Chrysler cheaper than buying them in Cleveland or Pittsburge. YES we do this with meat too. It's all about cost and it's all traded as a commodity. Sad.

Had a buddy that worked at a Standard Oil gas station and for a pack of smokes I could use the lift and use tires from the used rack. I had my Cutlass along with the junkers. I NEVER stole a tire. When I was done I put them back and barowed another set. Always exchanged the wheel weights to. I NEVER kept anything. Senior year changed back tires 6 times in one week at Hanks Service Station. Pretty good deal really.
