I believe they used a shoe horn on both sides to get that one in there.

Did you see the front leaf springs? Looks like a half dozen or so on each side.

I've only done a few. Southern Nationals is about an hour away in Commerce GA, so no excuse.

Two stories to tell. First event I went to was in the late 70's with my Dad on the back seat of the motorcycle in my garage right now. It was at the old Bee Line Dragway near Phoenix. I got Don Garlits autograph. I seen him again at World of Wheels probably 30 yrs later and got another one LOL.

The other good one. In 90 or 91 I worked for STP running some service centers and had access to the company van. It was a white Pontiac Transport and all stickered out with company logos. The marketing VP got me some reserved seat tickets to the Southern Nationals, so I invited my Dad and a family friend to come too. I had them meet me at the shop and we took the company van. We were the only vehicle that got pit parking without a team pass. They seen all the STP crap on that van and waved us in like VIPs.

Ricky Smith was driving the STP pro stock car at the time. The team invited us behind the ropes for a tour of the trailer and got to hang out with the crew. Aside from that, we definitely spent more time in the pits than we did in the grandstands.

I figure if I stay here hauling chemicals and everything went perfect I could retire October 16, 2050. That would put me at 60 and 31 years in.
