The thing to remember is that, the people who actively post in these forums aren't the only ones reading them. There are probably thousands of drivers who see these posts every day.
Think about the guy who posts regularly, who doesn't believe in checking his mirrors while driving. Just because someone at a big trucking company told him so. Yep, him and some guy at big X trucking who is actually in charge of training, believe it's not necessary to look in your mirrors while driving. And he espouses this right here in these forums.
Do you really want other drivers to fall for his line of reasoning?
I know I don't.

^^^^^ the other side of the coin.
Sometimes I feel the older “truly experienced “ drivers need to speak up from time to time. No sense in getting into a argument with some powder puff that just got his cdl 8 months ago, and now considers himself “experienced “!!
In 1985 I was moving drill rigs around in the coal mines of WV, & KY before buying the 73 Cabover KW and going on the road in 87. But I’m still learning, believe it or not I learn a little from others right here in the 5..... But if we set back and don’t say WHOA THERE! And try to share our years of personal experience to the OP, then I guess we haven’t “tried to help”. Like I said no reason to get in a argument with the self acclaimed big #### chief in the woods I know it alls, but I would like to think it is our duty to share our knowledge, not let it go to the grave with us because of a cream puff. Hard for me to bite my tongue sometimes too!
And I’m still thinking about the 200 mph trucks out west....... yes I read that. Stay safe guys, gotta get back, unload reload and get it back to NY.....Oxbow, cke, whoopNride and 25 others Thank this.
