I try to stay out of the HOS, ELD and paper discussion...but since we're here. My problem is the forced half hour because some folks felt like they couldn't take a lunch break and from what I understand brought a lawsuit because of it. I personally hate sitting around for a forced half hour. And the 70 in 8. As long as I'm forced to take a full 10 hour break everyday why should it matter to anyone how many days in a row I work?! There's nothing worse then sitting in a truck some where away from home for 34 hours when I could be Rollin'! In car hauler the ELD really isn't that big of a deal because I load when I want and most times deliver when I want. For people that have to deal with appointment times and being held up by shippers and receivers not respecting your time like they expect you to respect theirs I can see the issues with ELD's. If some folks would take more responsibility for themselves and handle their sheet a little better and not blame everyone else for their issues we'd be a lot better off! Seems everyone wants their hand held nowadays. I wanted to be a driver for the freedom not to be lazy!
