Spent the day hauling fuel, wife came with me all day and helped. It was sure nice bringing her along to see some of what it is all about. Took three loads of diesel to my yard, and then this last load was a split, 16,200 liters of diesel to malakwa, and 32,000 gasoline to sicamous. We had a late morning snack at McDonald's and dinner at the Burner grill.

Charcoal west outta Royal Oak in West Plains Missouri. Produce back to Associated Grocers in Springfield Mo. Lots of fresh chicken to outta batesville Arkansas.
At one time my family had 15 loads a week outta Royal Oaks to Barstow. Theres sliding doors on both ends of that shop, me and Dad was working on one of the gliders in the other side door when Uncle Bill come in to leave. He talked to Dad a minute then says I better kick the tires and scoot. Dad handed him his shop ticket for his bible that had where we checked lights tires etc. Said I run your overhead too you ol buzzard. You think you unload Tuesday morning? Bill said ya if I'm dead if I'm breathing I be there Monday afternoon. He fired Mabel off and up the hill he went. When he cleared the shop Dad just kinda froze in place a minute then looked at me said Son ain't nobody as smooth as EZ.
I was fortunate no doubt about that -

Great stories for sure.
I had a great upbringing, but Dad was about as far from trucking as can be. He was quite interested in hearing about it though when I bought my first truck back in 89.7-UP, Feedman, Hurricane69 and 22 others Thank this.
