I'm thinking that last plea bargin' mama made went somin' like "Son I don't wanna see that truck again".... Shortly after that it went into paint.
The only thing we'll ever see is the lights getting smaller in the left lane!!!

If a dam company can't afford or let a driver idle his truck because his APU or whatever isn't working is friggin ridiculous......yes I know they can afford it. It really pizzes me off to see stuff like this, and IF I was you their ain't no way in helll I would sit in a mega's truck wrapped up in a blanket. If they got on me about idling I'd tell em fine, get it fixed! In the meantime I'm going to be comfortable in my home away from home that YOU have given me. You've already put up with that castrated piece of crap for how long now? How much money has it cost you having to sit waiting on it to get fixed these past few months because THEY wouldn't get it fixed the right way? It's ok for YOU to lose money but when it comes to them......that's different. What's the saying? The cost of doing business?
Sorry, rant over.TripleSix, 7-UP, BoostedTeg and 10 others Thank this. -
I agree the problem is you have to hook to the ECM and change the parameter for it to idle.TripleSix, Oxbow, 4mer trucker and 8 others Thank this.

Some you can trick kicking it to high idle. Some you can trick by leaving the tractor knob pushed in, and using the trailer brakes to park. @stwik your truck may be too new or they know about those tricks, it's worth trying
I agree with @Bear135 if you're responsible about idling, there is no reason to deny a company driver basic creature comforts.
I gots to figure out my Webasto bunk heater. It won't shut off once it gets going. They say I need to plumb the intake air from cabin air so it senses the air temperature in the cabin. But that's on me, being busy. I have the parts and tools just need a couple uninterrupted hours. -
The APU issue is kinda on me.
Our APUs are garbage mostly because the service interval is never followed. I couldn’t tell you the last time my APU was actually serviced by a TK technician — it’s been almost a year. My APU has actually been rather trouble free though — knock on wood — and this is the first time I haven’t been able to fix the #### thing and get it working.
I told them about the APU issue and their first thought was to get me to a TK dealer ASAP. This was right before I emptied out in Snoqualmie Washington last week.
I did not want to sit so soon after coming off recovery mode. I figured as long as it was above freezing temps I could live without the APU. Worst case scenario the batteries go out on me and I need to get jumped....
Turned out to be the right choice, imo. I’ve had two 3200+ mileage weeks back to back and I’ve managed a reset during both of them. I’d call that a win considering I’ve had white line fever all #### month.
So we’re putting off the APU is more or less my call... want to wait till I get to Tulsa/Laredo then fix it. Rather sit on my ### at terminal than in a dealer... gotten real tired of looking at dealerships already.Feedman, Shock Therapy, Oxbow and 8 others Thank this. -
You know... I’ve tried everything but that trailer brake switch with the parking brake pushed in... what do you know... almost a year in and I decide to try it and it works... unreal

The downside here is there’s no high idle switch... but this box of bungees will do
Feedman, Shock Therapy, sawmill and 7 others Thank this. -

Driven by here I don't know how many times. Always wondered it looked man made. Went for a walk this morning and found out what's the deal.
Stopping at Fry Brothers for vittles headed for the hillbilly. Y'all be coolFeedman, Ruthless, Shock Therapy and 7 others Thank this. -
There was a local boy about 10-12 years old who was missing the other night. He had left home to go play and by 9 pm they couldn't find him anywhere. All the neighbors, friends, family and the sheriff's department were looking for him. In the end they found him less than a mile from home up in a tree. He learned if you get between a cow moose and her calf the best place to hide is a tree. Poor kid put a scare in everyone but he's lucky he didn't get trampled.

Good end to that story Sawmill.
Fortunately there was a tree available!
I wonder if that young man will be getting a moose tag when he is of age to hunt?Ruthless, 4mer trucker, wore out and 7 others Thank this.
