How heavy is that piece on the clamp/tong?

 

I'm not positive but I thought I read somewhere eons ago that the oil pan was shorter to give it ground clearance which made having a shorter crankshaft necessary. It's the same bore size as the L-10 ( 125.00 mm ) but has a longer stroke ( 147.00 mm versus 136.00 ) .
