94-96 they made a z26 with a 3100 ( modified 3.1 ) and possibly a Quad 4 Oldsmobile engine ( article isn't clear ). They were changing names frequently at the time and had been offering a similar package before. GT then GTU then GTZ then Z26 with some overlap between the specific models. 2.8 , 3.1 V-6's and the 2.3 Quad 4 depending on year and what version. The hottest one was the 90-93 GTZ with the base Quad 4 at 7.6 sec 0 to 60.
Ugh. Good looking cars in my opinion but the engineering wasn't up to snuff yet, although it was improving, which just makes it more apparent how horrible things got in the 80's.

I think ? the W31 was a 350 small block ?
The Oldsmobile engines were all basically the same block with the exception of the deck height. Pontiac engines are also the same basic Block from what I've read, although I don't know if the deck height is the major change between a Big Block and a small block.
Chevy had two entirely different blocks and Ford had several different blocks.
I'm not sure about Buick blocks, I've never seen anything on those.Last edited: Aug 30, 2019

They were the last times the 442 name was used and they had nothing in common except the 442 name, with the better known versions from before.
WD 40 is a spray lubricant sold in blue and yellow cans most commonly. Not associated with Oldsmobile at all. -
I am a dyed in the wool GM guy but those were some dark years.

Did you put that on the internet so I could find it ?
I do believe you hid that on purpose.
Can we compromise on " seldomly associated with Oldsmobile currently " ? -
Block the boom to chain or strap down. If you have enough chain and binders pull the opposite way on each of the forward outriggers. Back it up to the step if you got one or back it up against a strapped or nailed and cleated 4X4. I would suggest setting the block 10 to 12 ft from the front if you are on a flat, that should balance well and give you 12 ft or so on each end for LTL and 14k lbs of wgt. -

If working alongside inconsiderate pricks and the biggest morons around was my dream job, I'd say I'm living in a fairy tale.
