The bi-metal blades are about twice the cost, but well worth it. I also have a can of pb blaster that I spray on the roller guides and blade every so often when it's cutting. It seems to help the longevity as well.

They're hand tools have the same lifetime warranty as anybody else's. After looking at crapsman tools the other day, and seeing they were made in china as well, I'll buy the Pittsburgh brand.
My plasma cutter is an HF special. I've had it almost 9 years now. Still works as good as when I bought it.

Their power/air tools have come a long way.
I'm thinking about a toolbox from there tomorrow, with the sale and all.
I did some bridge crane upgrades at a manufacturing company about 7 years ago. The HF toolboxes outnumbered all the other expensive brands by over 2:1. They are built heavier than the mac and snap on boxes, and way cheaper in the price dept.

I have one just like it but it’s a reddish color, I took the time to square the clamping jaws with the blade, and it cuts rather nice and straight.

I have a big Kalamazoo bandsaw here too that needed some tlc, young cousin seen it and really wanted it..... I gave it to him free, I like helping those that work and try hard to succeed!

Bought my last craftsman tool a few months ago, if I’m buying China made I’m not paying top dollar prices! And I have to agree, HF has gotten better with some of their quality. My cousin owns a hydraulic filtration company that caters to the mining industry, HF tools have served him well.

Tighten the spring load on it, reducing the downward pressure on the blade will help extend blade life...... and true the stationary clamping jaw to the blade with a small square, it will help a lot.

I don't mind harbor freight tools either. Except the little 1/4 in racthets. Or the fact sometimes you need to modify a wrench with a fire wrench to make it work.
