sound familiar. i am.sitting at the shipper waiting for 08:30. i was told 11'7" wide, 32' long and 6' tall. 10l lbs. i pull in and see a unit here. its 32'x11'7" and 3' high. i say cool, getting two. so i go inside and the guy tells me he wants to get four of them on me!!! ummm, how the heck does that work out? 16' tall, i think not.

at least i dont have to tarp it

yeah, I could have taken both my steel tarps and turned them sideways to cover it, but that was not not ok with the shipper. I didn't see the difference as long as it was covered, but then he tells me he prefers their machines on a conastoga trailer. I told him he needs to double the rate in that case

i would love a conestoga but them babies are pricy and the rates i see on.mercers board for them dont justify it. its amazing these people want all this specialized equipment but dont want to pqy any more then standard flatbed rates for it

Yeah, the guy said he was already paying $8 mile.... but the load was only going 115 miles I explained, and those trailers are 'specilized" and require the rate to be higher. He told me I was crazy and he would not pay anymore for the load to move just to Indy from Dayton. I then said "Well, for a $3M machine, you'd think you'd pay the premium to have it hauled properly."

He said, "you know know, you're right."

I got a call from the agent a few minutes ago and the owner told him to tell me thank you and gave me a $100 TONU and he also raised the rate to $1,000 for a conastoga, and the agent thanked me for being professional and helping them out. All in a days work i guess LOL

i am not loading this one unless they caugh up more money. it needs a new set of permits. it was sold 11'7" wide. we permitted for 11'9" wide and its actually a half inch wider. they told us 6 foot high which is two units and they want to stack three which is 13'10" high and 50% heavier.

the guy told me he is paying for the whole truck and he would put on as much as he wants. i just walked away and called the agent to deal with it. i hate the idea of sitting out here over the weekend though. i may not get home for thanksgiving now if they refuse to pay up

i dont even know how i can strap it if its over 10' high and almost 12' wide. straps are only 30'
