I hope it goes well for ya Rob. I once spent 3 days and $3,000 for a clutch alone in Ogden UT. Never break down in the middle of nowhere.

Well, it looks like it is the clutch. They are going to install a new one and hopefully have it done by the end of the day. They are closed tomorrow of course, so i have a feeling i won't be leaving here till Wednesday anyways.

And also, I woke up to a ####roach about the size of my hat in the bathroom..... so it's on to a different hotel for sure lol

I list it as layover and we'll see. When I worked for them last year, I didn't have a problem with that. We'll see. :D

Bills don't say anything except call 24 hours ahead of delivery...which I already did. :(

Sorry to hear about that SHC. You might be right though, sometimes providence has to make us take care of ourselves cause we're too busy to.

As for the ####roach... just share the food and all will be well. :D

Anyway, I decided to head up closer to Chicago...am at Monee, IL. The snow coming was forecast to drop 1-2 inches north of Springfield, more below...and Effingham was below Springfield so I decided to go high.

I did, however, stop in Effingham to get a truck wash at the Truckomat. My first one ever.

I'm a company driver and figured my job is to drive and load, not clean the road dirt off...but this NEW Cascadia is just so new I had to get the pipefield red mud and crushed slag off of it. When I refueled I had to beat the dirt off the caps because it was like a spray on liner on the fuel tanks.......so I fronted the money to get it cleaned up....and it looks so purty again. :D

Now I need to spend the day cleaning the inside and get my laundry done while I get a 34 hour reset to run to Washington.

    Ciao!

Yes you do....the broker doesn't want to be responsible for any possible damage like "dirty or wind whipped bags", so they have you work to tarp it. Just look at it as exercise. :D

When you get loaded, and if you head down 57, I'm at Monee Petro, I'll buy you coffee. :D

    Logan76 Thanks this.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune SHC. At least you won't have to worry about a clutch for a while now.

    Your right...

I'm headed east or i would gladly join you for coffee, thanks for the offer.

It just blows my mind how rude some drivers are, good ol TMC decided he isn't going to pull up and its a small lot so i have to wait for him to tarp and strap to get loaded..

Sorry about your clutch trouble SHC, that sucks...

Looks like I'm stuck here a few days. They haven't even pulled the truck in yet, and I guess on a WS they have to pull the motor mounts to be able to remove the trans?? Thinking maybe I should have taken the truck to Rush Peterbilt and not the Freightliner dealer.

    Logan76 and volvodriver01 Thank this.
