We left Albert Lea. at noon, made Fargo at 5:30. The roads were pretty clear execpt the last 5 miles coming into Fargo.
Hope to del. tomorrow am and then off to the body shop for repairs. -
No Appt time that I know of yet. Yea I've got a little hair left in just glad it's off the deck. I got there this morning and they walked out and said you don't have a winch truck we can't unload you to which I replied call a winch truck to unload it but I'm not paying the bill as my quote didn't include loading or unloading. They said well we aren't paying for it either so I said then I'll haul it back to Waco and charge you double. In the end they decided 800 dollars for a truck to unload me was a lot cheaper than my rate to haul it back. Even if they would have ordered a winch truck my price would have went up 6 or 8 grand so it was cheaper all around.

Don't you just love that?
How did they load it, crane or winch trk.?
They probably had the winch trk. near by and like you stated, not a bad price. Like the ld. I lined up last Dec. Does it need tarps. No. Ok. Day before lding. the customer says yes it needs to be tarped.. Cost them dearly. Thank goodness the people I'm with bought 3 tarps as I only had one with me. -
I will be hauling loaded racks to the factory and empties back to the supplier. I have 15 of the extreme straps i can use, so I'm good there. I have 583 loads to move total for the year, comes out to 2+ a day, so an occasional saturday might be needed. There will be no summer shutdown as they just finished retooling the plant for new models...so i was told. But even if they do, i can always run other freight till it gets going again. Obviously not going to be a permenant run as most auto-stuff gets under-cut at some point. Up till now, it was on a weekly bid system I guess, but GM wanted LS to dedicate a truck to certin lanes for a "permenant" run and lane. They are a 3PL for GM so i guess it might work out well. i know that GM can access our system and track things and so-on.
All I can do is make the run and see how it goes.
And Cpape, there will be no beer belly as i quit drinking a few months back, and also got a membership to the YMCA that I've been using quite a bit with the wife. And plan on using it more with weekends off. I'm down 10 pounds so far since X-mas and shooting for 30 total. -
Sorry haul hand i only used to deliver out there, you couldve slept right at the mill too.

Dale, Indiana after loading in Clayton NC.
Keen yard in Clayton is a joke.
The office wench made me put 8 binders on the thing before she would give paperwork to m
44k of securement on a 30k lb load...retarded and told her so.
Tried telling me that cat wants it that way to which I out and out called her a liar...if cat wanted chains in the middle of the machine, there would be tie downs there like on 972s etc. !
why does someone in an office think they know more than a 20+ year driver, when it comes to load securement?
Never had a problem at any other keen yard before that dump... -
Thats funny, when I loaded there I only had to put 6 on it.

Where am I? Nice and warm in San Diego.

I used to haul bumper racks from Urbana, IL upto Michigan City loaded and right back to Urbana empty. Don't know what kind of racks your hauling but they were loaded quickly and off loaded within an hour or there after. Dedicated run also so it was pretty sweet as I got the same rate empty as I did loaded.
Make killer money until I got under bid.
Cluck Cluck Thanks this.
