thats what i was thinking... and i live up in the big mountains so you gotta have a little "gusto" ill say to be nice lol. not sure if i could handle that especially bein so green. kinda edging more towards chip haulinaiwiron Thanks this.
-
Chips are heavy but easy, path of least hassles. Logs are not hard to drag just sometimes a pain, dot always loves log trucks at least in Virginia and West Virginia, Maryland etc.
-
They loooove them in norcal also. not alot of scale houses but tons and tons of roadside inspections. im thinking im geared a little more towards haulin chips maybe down the road when im older gettin into log haulinaiwiron Thanks this.
-
I would worry less a out the scales and more about the logging roads. Have you seen where trees come from? Most of those guys are nuts, muddy roads, r

Ridiculous grades and gain drop offs with top heavy loads. I learned to drive hauling lumber from the north coast mills and no way would run a log truck, but good luck if you want to go after it.

haha yes i know where trees come from. Your totally right im not sure i would wanna run on most of the logging roads around the house in the summertime let alone during the winter and early spring. Decided that ill try for a chip haulin gig or lumber haulin. tons of that around here

Well Haulhand, how many hours in the mill to ld.?
Hope the weather treats you well.
Got the trk. in the body shop this morning. They started on it first thing.
Was told sometime Monday. Great as I'm setup to ld. a crane Wens. in Waverly..
Found out the hard way about Mn. kingpin laws.
I allways leave my flip next and flip axle down. Never had a problem untill Wens. after noon at the scales just east of Morehead.
Nailed me for exceding 43' on the kingping to rear axle.
Then he's checking my logbook. Asks do you sleep in the truck? Yes most of the times, why.
Well you are logging off duty, not showing sleeper bearth. So what's the problem I ask. Allways show a least 10 off if not more.
Well you need to log sleeper when are are in the sleeper.
I was nice and said after doing it this way for 15 years and being inspected many times you are telling me this is not right...
He back peddles a bit. No ticket, just a warning for the kingpin deal.
Then I had to get a permit for my mty. trl. and put on my signs and flags..
So to who ever saw me going east Wens. afternoon late with signs and flags on an mty. lowboy. This is why they were there..
Not being lazy.. -
6 hours waiting on them to set one plate on me. Took so long I got caught by curfew in Lancaster and sat all night at the same diner I spent the night before. Weather has been good so far I'm sitting in a rest area on I76 now waiting out Ohio curfew them I'm going to haul ### to the rest area over west of Akron I've got just under an hour after curfew that I can run.
