Once you go throught the gate, stay straight, for a few miles. Transportation will be on the right, the air field will be on the left. If you get to McDonald's, you went about 1/4 mile too far. You can park beside the Quonset huts, behind McDonald's, if you want to get a bite to eat. Unless they changed, you can get there early and sleep there.

Getting the truck ready for a OTR week. Picking up an OS steel ring going to Mt. Vernon, IN Monday, then going to grab the highest *net paying load I find and go with it. Time to get some money in the bank after writing Uncle Sam a $8k tax check.

They have pushed out the start date till first week of May. I guess the shipper and GM are working on finalizing the prototype for the racks that will be used. Hopefully it will start sooner, but they are saying May. So I'm gonna hit the road and get some more miles in on this truck and money in my pocket. Just wish it was summer time because that would make load options a lot easier. There are plenty of good loads going out towards Ft. Lewis and Seattle but I can't go there in the winter (no tire chains, and I just don't want to)

I hate sending trucks to the NW. Always seems there is nothing but cheap loads of lumber. Then there is nowhere between the NW and Iowa to send them for a better paying load. Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas have the same poor rates as the NW.

    milskired Thanks this.

Two years ago, I deadheaded from Portland to S. Dakota and picked up a load that paid the same, going east, as loads out of the NW.

    SHC Thanks this.

Well that's handy, my place in Ohio offers me ID and OR. A lot I politely decline
