Jumbo, I think you will retire where you are after reading your posts. You have a good gig there and I think they treat you good. Even if you did have to drive an under rated trk. a few days..

 

I would also have to figure out the pay thing. I am not sure mileage pay would work for company drivers and I don't know what the proper percentage would be for contractors. Rates are a whole 'nother can of worms to figure out.

 

I second this...you do seem to have a good gig.

 

Some pay percentage, the former place paid company mileage. Increase with the size.
The big blue trks. from Or. pay salarly.
A good friend of mine pays his guys salarly plus percentage over a set amount every month for his drivers.
They are mainly running in Phoenix area and some out of state hauling.

 

There are some things here that dont thrill me, but it is more of the "Corporate BS" type stuff. Things like our new cell phone policy that we had to sign stating we cant use cell phones, even hands free devices, when driving. My DM called the next day and I told him as soon as I answered the phone "I am not allowed to use the phone while driving" and hung up on him. He called right back and asked "Did you just hang up on me?" to which I replied "Did it sound anything like this?" and hung up on him again. I am a master at being passive aggressive.

 

Bet that got him to shaking his head.
Yes crp. B.S. can get to be a real pain in the backside. Been there done that also..
Kinda laid back where I'm at now. Yes they have their rules.but still like the old school way of things

 

I suppose we should quit offroading with this thread and get back on track. I am in beautiful Oswego, Kansas waiting to load up in the morning headed up to Iowa for a Friday delivery.
