Where is everyone?

Davenport, Iowa at the J. Too windy to unload us so they paid an O/O to stay down there till monday to unload the trailers.

 

Unloaded the Denver lumber this a.m. after waiting till 3:30 cdt yesterday to start running, as I was real close to running out of 70 hours, rolled over at midnight and kept rolling getting in late. Had to wait to go legal...tarp was torn up that I had to turn sideways to get 8' drops on the double stack, but couldn't get short tarp and other tarp to overlap, so I had to bungie it down and that didn't hold well at all... lost a tarp section and it started tearing up the other full size one too. Soooo.....they tried to get me another "full lumber" size load and had to inform them I'll do it, but won't guarantee it because of the tarps. Load fell through so here I sit in Denver East T/A.

They don't get it.... you need lumber tarps for lumber loads, not an adhoc machine tarp setup.

Guess it's time to put applications in for something different.

Yeah, it's taking its toll. I'm just tired of working....just to do the work....again. The work is hard enough, without having to do it without the right tools....like the coil stuff they didn't supply.

Trying to decide what to do today. The foot of snow on the ground kind of has my spring time plans all screwed up.

 

Setting on the screened in porch at the swamp shack HQ, drinking coffee in my shorts and tee shirt. Heading out to buy pic-a nic food for a waterfront park pic-a-nic today, life is good doing local.

Weather is a bit overcast with possible rain today, do not have to worry since it is at a pavilion.

 

If I left right now I probably wouldn't make it in time to eat would I?
