I can usually get out of Cali for about the same on legal loads as well. My last trip out of Los Angeles was the aerospace load up to Sacramento for $5.45 mile. Then I grabbed those AC machines to ND for $2.53 mile and DH the 1,000 miles home. Still came out to $2.34 mile to the truck on all hub miles and I was able to get 11.2mpg on the empty 1,000 mile trip home
$6,920 on 2,955 hub miles
Where is everyone?

Better than we do on normal freight, but not as many bills neither I guess. Sounds like you did an excellent round trip though!
I will go there (while I can), as it normally works out OK in the end. Never had any issues out in Cali, besides a $300 ticket from the CARB pricks for making a pot of coffee in the truck, before I installed the generator.

Whats everyones thoughts on nice cab overs?? Them sharp ones are growning on me. Guy pulling a flat just backed in with a nice truck and toolbox headache rack. Lots of chrome.. looked good.

I spent @10yrs in cabovers back home in England. I dont mind them at all myself.
The Argosy is a nice looking rig when done right, as well as the older KW's etc. As soon as you get a tight place to get into, you will love it!
Jacking up the cab allows full access to the motor, thus making a V8 more doable
I have been eyeing the MB 502's at the Claas plant myself. Thats a Mercedes V8 that starts at 560HP.

This is an older KW. Slightly stretched with deck on back with huge headache rack and tool box... i walked over and had a closer look.

They are a working mans rig IMHO. I had an old cabover when I first moved here from England. I made more with that than anything else since, especially the 4 axle W9 I got right after it.
I was running into wheelbase issues for getting more weight though, so off it went.

Got my crossfire's installed on my drive tires, cleaned out the headache rack and got things ready for another week on the road. Finished up my laundry and packed my bag. Going to head west in a few hours.
