Pepper Jacks Cafe north of Denver for the night. Got unloaded around noon and went and swapped out the step for the flat. Loading at 8am going to Lubbock, then prob just DH over to OKC and have the APU installed. Got a OD load out of Denison going to Houston for Monday, then a reload from Houston back to Chicago. The rate sucks going to Chicago but I figure i can just make up for it on a shorthaul around town once I get back.

Sitting at the house after running alot of short runs. Made my money for the week and now thinking about dropping a 12 valve into my old 78 ford pickup. Don't know really but thinking about it.

Sure wish I could get these short runs to pay a little better. Also, I can't figure out why these places won't load in the AM and unload in the afternoon?? Just about every run I try to set up will load in the morning and deliver the following morning a whopping 250 miles away. Just stupid

You are running the wrong freight if you are looking for short hauls same day pick and drops. Stick to coils, run from the house to m-town area unload/reload and go right back to the house to the wife. Easy. :biggrin_25525:

Might not be the same as the high dollar freight you are chasing running OTR but sure beats staying out for 2 weeks at a time. You live in prime territory for running coils and being home daily or every other day in your bed.
